Infiniti trims the 2025 QX50 family, ups price to $44,350

Infiniti has shrunk the midsize QX50 family of crossovers for the 2025 model year, but it's made one major feature standard.

Now sold in three trim levels, the QX50 no longer comes with a front-drive model. All versions now sport standard all-wheel drive, Infiniti disclosed on Tuesday.

The QX50 family begins with the base Pure Edition, and carries over the Luxe and Sport versions, too. However, Infiniti has dropped the Sensory and Autograph models that it offered in the 2024 QX50 lineup—so the QX50 Sport now sits at the top of the lineup.

The related QX55—essentially a QX50 with a tapered rear roofline—returns in Luxe, Essential, and Sensory spec, with standard all-wheel drive.

For 2025, the $44,350 QX50 Pure hikes its price by $2,305, which offsets the newly standard all-wheel drive, which had cost $2,000 as an option in the 2024 model year. Standard features include a power tailgate, wireless smartphone charging, and 19-inch wheels.

The $47,650 QX50 Luxe gets a hands-free power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and roof rails. The $52,550 QX50 Sport straps on 20-inch wheels, dark exterior trim, cooled front seats, navigation, a heated steering wheel, and 12-speaker Bose audio.

The QX55 Luxe, meanwhile, costs $51,500, and has 20-inch wheels, heated front seats, and a wireless smartphone charger. For $56,450, the QX55 Essential adds a surround-view camera system, navigation, and 16-speaker Bose audio. For $60,000, the QX55 Sensory tops off with open-pore maple wood trim, a head-up display, a hands-free power tailgate, semi-aniline leather upholstery, and heated rear seats.

Both vehicles power up with the a 2.0-liter turbo-4 with variable compression. That means the engine can alter the reach of its pistons to reduce or boost its compression ratio, which should provide more power and better fuel economy; in our reviews we've found little difference on the EPA side. Teamed with an 8-speed automatic, the engine delivers 268 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Gas mileage checks in at 22 mpg city, 28 highway, 25 combined.

Infotainment for both models incorporates a dual-screen setup with an 8.0-inch touchscreen atop a 7.0-inch touchscreen; the top one delivers wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, while the lower one runs climate and other controls. 

The QX50 and QX55 soldier on as Infiniti has pared down to an SUV-only lineup, following the discontinuation of the Q50 sedan. The 2025 QX80 has been redesigned for the new model year, while the three-row Infiniti QX60 saw a revamp last year.
