The Giulia’s core lineup goes mostly unchanged, though Alfa Romeo updates the front and rear lighting and the front grille design. With LED adaptive matrix headlights, new smoked glass taillights, and a new configurable instrument cluster, the Giulia’s look and feel go a little more high-tech.
Two new limited editions join the lineup, as well. The Competizione sits below the Quadrifoglio with great performance and a ton of luxury features, while a 100th anniversary edition Giulia Quadrifoglio is limited to just 100 cars across the globe.The Giulia’s curvy and svelte body has a distinctive profile with nods to the brand’s heritage in the shield-shaped center grille. The cabin is attractive yet reflects the Giulia’s lower pricing relative to its European competition.
The base 280-hp 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine sends power to the rear or to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission in all models but the Quadrifoglio. That gets a Ferrari-derived twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 good for 505 hp. The base engine is quick enough for most, with reasonably efficient ratings of 27 mpg combined, while the Quadrifoglio is simply rapid.
The Giulia complements its speed with sharp and immediate responses that can feel manic through town but shine on winding roads. The cabin boasts standard leather seating, an 8.8-inch touchscreen, and driver-assistance tech like adaptive cruise control.

The Giulia gives quick response and feedback from the engine, suspension, and steering wheel, which combine to make for an absolutely joyful driving experience. It’s sometimes too manic for drivers who prefer a more sedate cruise, but our performance rating of 8 out of 10 will resonate with sport sedan enthusiasts.
Is the Alfa Romeo Giulia 4WD?
All-wheel drive is an option on 4-cylinder models, but not with the rear-wheel-drive Quadrifoglio trim.
How fast is the Alfa Romeo Giulia?
With the base turbo-4, it’s quick enough for most, and it becomes downright fierce with the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s Ferrari-derived V-6.
The base turbo-4 produces a solid 280 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque, capable of a 5.1-second run from 0-60 mph. The brilliant 8-speed automatic transmission delivers lightning-fast shifts.
The 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 that powers the Quadrifoglio is even better, with 505 hp and 443 lb-ft for a top speed of 191 mph and a 3.8-second 0-60 mph sprint. This Giulia’s V-6 makes a wicked howl when pushed.
The zippy 11.8:1 steering ratio promises razor-sharp response, though that’s sometimes too much for smooth cruises. The stiff platform, 50/50 weight balance, and double-wishbone front suspension pair with an optional limited-slip rear differential and adaptive dampers to elevate the Giulia into a proper sports sedan. The Quadrifoglio has a stiff ride, though tolerable on reasonably smooth roads.
The only problem here is a wooden brake feel, although the calipers grab with confidence.

You’ll want to ride up front in the 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia.
Despite a price tag upward of $45,000, the 2024 Giulia’s interior accommodations aren’t particularly impressive. The firmly bolstered front seats earn a point above average, though we stop there at a 6.
The seats come standard with leather, heaters, and front power adjustments. Nappa leather is available, and Sparco sport seats are available in the Quadrifoglio, though they may be too snug for larger drivers.
The second row offers 35.4 inches of legroom, which is reasonably spacious, but it can be tough to climb in due to narrow door openings.
Even among small sedans, the 13.4 cubic-foot trunk is on the modest side.Materials are just good enough, and the cabin doesn’t feel as special as some competitors.
