features & specs
The 2024 Audi E-Tron GT pairs thrilling styling with rapid acceleration, though its range trails other electric flagships.
What kind of vehicle is the 2024 Audi E-Tron GT? What does it compare to?
Stylish, brilliant to drive, and very quick, the 2024 Audi E-Tron GT is the automaker’s zippiest EV offering yet. Shop it against the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan.
Is the 2024 Audi E-Tron GT a good car?
It sure is. We rate it at 8.0 out of 10 thanks to its rapid-fire responses, its sinewy style, and its gorgeous interior. It’s a proper EV flagship. (Read more about how we rate cars.)
What's new for the 2024 Audi E-Tron GT?
The E-Tron GT sees minor tweaks this year including wider standardization of laser or matrix headlights, depending on the trim.
Audi essentially offers two versions of the E-Tron GT: the base model and the more potent RS. Both share crisp, showcar-like styling. They’re low-slung with minimal wasted lines and a dramatic roofline. Big fender flares cover wide tires, which hint at this car’s impressive performance envelope.
Inside, the E-Tron GT toes the Audi corporate line with easy-to-access switchgear and impressive materials that are in line with pricing. Two big screens dominate the dash, but they don’t overwhelm. Base models have a huge glass roof, which can be carbon fiber in the RS E-Tron.
Sharing a platform and powertrain basics with the Porsche Taycan reaps benefits for the E-Tron GT. A 93.4-kwh battery pack delivers power to two electric motors and all four wheels. A 2-speed gearbox shifts power rearward in a mostly smooth fashion, aside from an occasional transition when under heavy load. The standard car’s 522-hp rating (when using its boost function) grows to 637 hp in the RS E-Tron GT. Either way, look for the sprint to 60 mph to take barely over three clicks of your stopwatch. These are downright rapid cars.
Grippy tires provide otherworldly adhesion, and they’re aided by quick-witted, well-weighted steering that can feel a bit numb at high speeds but is otherwise quite nice. Optional four-wheel steering gives the E-Tron GT nimble response around town and a more planted feel at speed. The E-Tron models eat up highway models with aplomb.
Look for nearly 250 miles of range, which is well under the top Tesla Model S. The E-Tron GT’s 85 MPGe rating is also off Tesla’s mark.
The E-Tron has a comfortable cabin, with great front seats and decent rear-seat room so long as your passengers don’t shop at big and tall stores.
Standard crash-avoidance and driver-assistant tech includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warnings, and parking sensors. Audi charges extra for adaptive cruise control, though.
How much does the 2024 Audi E-Tron GT cost?
The base E-Tron GT will set you back just shy of $107,000. Adding swankier paint and upholstery, plus a few niceties, will nudge its price tag. The RS version runs the better part of $150,000.
Where is the 2024 Audi E-Tron GT made?
In Germany.
2024 Audi E-Tron GT Styling
The 2024 Audi E-Tron GT looks like a full-size Hot Wheels dream machine.
Is the Audi E-Tron GT a good-looking car?
It’s almost too good to be true. While its styling details are a bit busy, the 2024 Audi E-Tron has an evocative shape and a gorgeous interior. We award it an 8 on the TCC scale.
The car’s profile makes it look lower and smaller than it actually is, which is a great visual trick. Surface detailing such as the big fender flares provides a muscular flair suitable for a car with this kind of power. The E-Tron’s busy front end can be something of a letdown if you’re not prepared for big expanses of gray trim, however.
It’s equally impressive inside, if a lot more conventional than some EV flagships. The E-Tron features a big digital instrument cluster and a center stack with a 10.1-inch screen canted toward the driver. Conventional climate controls below are a nice thing to see when it comes to actual real-world usability.
2024 Audi E-Tron GT Performance
The base Audi E-Tron GT is so fast that it nearly renders pointless the costlier RS version.
Audi’s top electric car scores an 8 for performance thanks to blistering acceleration, slick handling, and a comfortable ride.
Is the Audi E-Tron GT 4WD?
Yes, the dual-motor setup provides four-wheel traction. You’ll want to invest in winter tires if it gets cold where you live, though.
How fast is the Audi E-Tron GT?
It’s rapid in any form. Both versions of the E-Tron GT use the same basic powertrain with a 93-kwh battery and those two electric motors. The base version is now rated as high as 522 hp when using a temporary boost feature (it's 496 hp otherwise), while the RS E-Tron GT balloons that figure to 597 hp (637 hp in boost mode). Don’t get too lost in the numbers, though. No E-Tron is a slouch. The base version rockets to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, while the RS slices nearly an entire second off of that figure.
A user-friendly launch control system helps make anyone capable of mashing the skinny pedal a drag-strip star, too. Just warn your passengers first.
The RS version’s extra power mostly aids high-speed passing. That’s not to say that the standard car is slow, though.
A three-chamber adaptive air suspension ensures a supple ride in standard drive modes, which can be stiffened up just enough in Dynamic mode. The optional Performance Package (standard on the RS) adds a rear torque-vectoring system and four-wheel steering to make the most out of high-speed cornering. The package is also worthwhile for anyone planning on a longer trek since it aids high-speed stability.
While quick in its responses, the electric power steering can feel vague on center. It’s also a little too light at speed, especially compared to the harder-edged Porsche Taycan.
Optional ceramic brakes can make the RS stop extra quickly, but they’re probably not worth the cost—both initially and in terms of servicing—for most shoppers.
2024 Audi E-Tron GT Comfort & Quality
The 2024 Audi E-Tron GT has a beautiful, if somewhat cramped, cabin.
You’ll want to be up front in the Audi E-Tron GT. These cars have a gorgeous cabin with great front seats. Cargo-wise, the E-Tron GT’s 1.8 cubic-foot front trunk hardly makes up for its bite-size 9.2 cubic-foot conventional rear trunk. Those assets and demerits conspire for a 7 out of 10.
Rear-seat riders will find a scant 32.2 inches of legroom, which is well less than even the smaller Audi A6. The low roofline also cuts into headroom and makes sliding into the rear seat something of a chore.
Up front, however, you’ll find 14-way power adjustment for the terrific seats and cabin materials in line with six-figure pricing.
2024 Audi E-Tron GT Safety
The 2024 Audi E-Tron GT has not been crash tested.
How safe is the Audi E-Tron GT?
Your guess is as good as ours since the 2024 Audi E-Tron GT has yet to be tested by the IIHS or the NHTSA.
It’s decently equipped with driver-assistance and crash-avoidance tech, however. Look for active lane control, parking sensors, blind-spot monitors, and traffic sign recognition across the board. Adaptive cruise control is optional, which seems a bit odd since Audi now makes that tech standard on most of its gas-fueled models.
2024 Audi E-Tron GT Features
The E-Tron GT comes as well equipped as its six-figure price tag suggests
Audi wants a lot of cash for the E-Tron GT, but it’s well outfitted for the money. All versions have good standard features, lots of optional extras for customization, and a terrific infotainment system. It’s an 8 on our scale.
Audi includes a luxury car-typical 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
Standard equipment includes synthetic leather trim on 14-way power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic glass roof, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, and LED headlights.
Which Audi E-Tron GT should I buy?
The standard Premium Plus costs a few bucks shy of $108,000. To it, we’d consider spending $4,500 for full leather interior trim and massaging/cooled front seats, $595 for metallic paint, and $4,100 for the Performance Package that includes four-wheel steering, active torque vectoring, and a few design tweaks.
At around $113,000, it undercuts the Prestige trim level—which really doesn’t include that many extras.
How much is a fully loaded Audi E-Tron GT?
For $148,595, the RS E-Tron GT tops the range with more power and features than its siblings—but not that much more. Even then, Audi wants more money for leather seats, four-wheel steering, and ceramic brakes. A loaded-up model will set you back nearly $166,000.
2024 Audi E-Tron GT Fuel Economy
Look for nearly 250 miles of all-electric range from the Audi E-Tron GT.
Is the Audi E-Tron GT good on gas?
The standard E-Tron GT is estimated at 249 miles using EPA test procedures no matter its output. That’s decent, but well behind Tesla and Lucid models. Its 85 MPGe rating is no match for the Tesla Model S’ 120 MPGe, however.
