Overview
The 2017 Bentley Continental GT coupe and convertible are proof that too much of a good thing is, quite simply, sometimes a great thing. Supremely refined and extremely quick, the Continental GT exudes power and prestige everywhere it goes. Available with a choice of turbocharged V-8 or turbocharged W-12 engine, the Continental GT is easy to drive and makes a strong case for being a supercar that can be enjoyed on a daily basis.
What's New for 2017?
The Continental GT rolls into the 2017 model year with a new top-of-the-line performance model dubbed the Supersports. Available in both coupe and convertible format, the Continental GT Supersports is the fastest and most powerful production car ever offered by Bentley. With 700 horsepower, the Supersports turns this already potent luxury machine into a four-passenger rocket capable of reaching 209 mph and sprinting from zero-to-60 mph in only 3.4 seconds.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Continental GT is available with a choice of twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 or twin-turbo 6.0-liter W-12 engine, both mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. The V-8 produces 500 horsepower in the base model and 521 in the S, while the W-12 engine puts out 633 horsepower in the Speed and 700 in the new Supersports. Performance is scintillating. The Continental GT blasts down the road with ease, and the handling is surprisingly good considering the car’s hefty curb weight of more than 5000 pounds. The ride is equally impressive; even the massive 21-inch alloys fitted to the Supersports model are rarely flustered by any bumps or road imperfections.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The cabin of the Continental GT is a case study in class. There is little space inside that isn’t covered in high-quality leather or real wood trim. And Bentley will be happy to match the interior trimmings to a buyer's personal taste. Purists will appreciate the organ-pull air vents that harken back to classic Bentley models, too. Space up front is ample in terms of headroom and legroom, though occupants in the rear seat had better be no more than average height. Rear stretch-out space in either the coupe or convertible is limited in terms of acreage, if not opulence. Cargo volume is equally cozy at roughly 12 cubic feet of capacity in the Continental GT coupe, and about 9 cubic feet in the convertible.
Infotainment and Connectivity
One flaw with the Continental GT is the car’s outdated infotainment system. We know, there are bigger issues in the world than having a six-figure luxury car that doesn’t have class-leading response times when inputting navigation commands. Yet, given its prestigious nature and price, you can’t be faulted for expecting the Continental GT to be at the sharp end of the technological curve. As it stands, the 8.0-inch screen is reasonably intuitive, and navigation is standard, though the lack of any USB ports or smartphone connectivity puts a modest dent in this Bentley’s otherwise immaculate cabin environment. An optional and crystal-clear Naim audio system is available if the standard stereo is deemed insufficient to your music listening needs.
