The 2024 Jaguar E-Pace comes in just one configuration, but its size and performance make a great urban runaround.
What kind of car is the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace? What does it compare to?
The E-Pace is Jaguar’s smallest crossover, a stepping stone to the more athletic F-Pace. Powered by a turbo-4 engine, the E-Pace is a natural rival of small crossover SUVs like the Audi Q3, BMW X2, and Volvo XC40.
Is the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace a good car?
Yes. It’s attractive, athletic, and well equipped, reflected by its TCC Rating of 6.2 out of 10. (Read more about how we rate cars.)
What’s new for the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace?
Jaguar moves into 2024 carrying over the E-Pace’s sole SE trim. However, this year Jaguar makes the R-Dynamic package of handling upgrades standard across the brand’s entire stable, as well as the Black Exterior Pack of styling enhancements. The 2024 E-Pace also gets an updated infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The sharp, svelte E-Pace wears an elegant grille and eye-catching LED headlights that balance out the squat stance. The newly standard styling package adds black exterior trim that complements the satin dark gray 19-inch wheels. The cabin’s sophisticated styling and design is upgraded with a new panoramic glass roof, ebony headliner, and heated steering wheel, while the 11.4-inch touchscreen gets updated software plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Every E-Pace comes powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-4 rated for 246 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 9-speed automatic transmission takes too long to hunt for the right gear, though Jaguar claims the E-Pace can still hustle from 0-60 mph in 7.0 seconds.
The E-Pace seats four passengers and holds 24.2 cubic feet of gear behind the rear seats. The front seats are easily adjustable and supportive, and though rear headroom is compromised by the roofline, there’s decent legroom.
As is typical for a luxury vehicle that sells in low numbers, the NHTSA and the IIHS haven’t crash-tested the E-Pace, but Jaguar supplies good standard safety tech, including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, and parking sensors.
How much does the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace cost?
For 2024, the Jaguar E-Pace lineup features just one model, the SE with the R-Dynamic package. Including the $1,175 destination charge, it costs $50,675. Features include keyless start, LED headlights, 12-way power front seats, an 11.4-inch touchscreen with newly wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, wireless device charging, 19-inch wheels, automatic emergency braking, active lane control, blind-spot monitors, and parking sensors.
Where is the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace made?
It’s built in Austria.
2024 Jaguar E-Pace Styling
Taut lines accentuate the Jaguar E-Pace’s muscular stance.
Is the Jaguar E-Pace a good-looking car?
Yes, it is. It's elegant but not showy, with a muscular stance and sophisticated cabin. The exterior and interior each earn a point, for a 7.
The E-Pace wears the family’s signature front end, with angular LED lighting that accentuates a slender mesh grille and big air intakes that hint at its performance potential. The side profile is more stout and athletic, though carefully drawn lines balance out the unusual proportions. This year, the Black Exterior Pack adds standard dark trim and dark 19-inch wheels.
Inside, the E-Pace shares more cues from the bigger F-Type, with premium materials, a big touchscreen paired with a newly standard digital driver display, contrast stitching, and a panoramic roof trimmed with an ebony headliner.
2024 Jaguar E-Pace Performance
Modest turbo-4 power and all-wheel drive combine in the well-rounded E-Pace.
Even though the E-Pace’s stablemates and some rivals boast more impressive numbers, this Jaguar has fantastic road feel. The modest but strong engine and feisty handling each earn a point, for a 7.
How fast is the Jaguar E-Pace?
It’s quick enough, but not particularly fast, and there are no performance upgrades available for the sole powertrain. Every E-Pace makes 246 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine. The 9-speed automatic hunts for the right gear, even with Sport mode activated, and the turbocharger spools up at its own easy pace, further complicating the transmission’s confusion. It’s loud and could be a lot more efficient, but Jaguar claims a 7.0-second sprint to 60 mph.
Is the Jaguar E-Pace 4WD?
Yes, all-wheel drive is standard. The system splits power to the front and rear, and then splits again at the rear to improve grip. Inclement weather and mild all-terrain driving are no problem.
The E-Pace has more car-like handling than most rivals, with adaptive damping for flat cornering, selectable driving modes to improve precision for different situations, and good steering feedback and response.
The 2024 Jaguar E-Pace can tow up to 2,968 pounds.
2024 Jaguar E-Pace Comfort & Quality
Bigger inside than it looks, the 2024 E-Pace offers comfort for four.
With comfortable and spacious front seats and good cargo space, the E-Pace earns points in both of those areas, for a 7.
Stretching 173.0 inches on a 105.6-inch wheelbase, the E-Paces optimizes the cabin with style to spare. Front riders get firmly-bolstered seats with tons of adjustment, optional heating and cooling, and plenty of personal space. The 11.4-inch touchscreen looks modern and is surrounded by upscale materials.
The back row technically offers three seats, but two across fit much more comfortably. There’s enough headroom for taller passengers, and 34.3 inches of legroom. Deep bolsters and supportive padding make for a good space to be.
The cargo area can hold 22.4 cubic feet of gear, which opens up to 49.5 cubes with the rear seats folded.
2024 Jaguar E-Pace Safety
The Jaguar E-Pace likely won’t be crash-tested, but has good safety tech.
How safe is the Jaguar E-Pace?
The NHTSA and the IIHS haven’t crash-tested the E-Pace, and most likely won’t, which is common for a low-volume luxury car. Therefore, we don’t award a rating.
Jaguar equips the E-Pace with automatic emergency braking, active lane control, parking sensors, and blind-spot monitors.
2024 Jaguar E-Pace Features
Jaguar piles on the features and backs the E-Pace with a class-leading warranty.
The E-Pace racks up points for its excellent infotainment, tons of standard features and options, and a great warranty. It’s an 8.
Which Jaguar E-Pace should I buy?
You don’t have much of a choice. For 2024, the E-Pace comes in a single configuration, the E-Pace SE R-Dynamic with the Black Exterior Pack of styling upgrades. It’s $50,675, including a $1,175 destination fee. It includes keyless start, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, an 11.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, LED headlights, a power tailgate, dark gray 19-inch wheels, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, active lane control, and parking sensors.
The E-Pace has a best-in-class 5-year/60,000-mile warranty with complimentary scheduled maintenance.
How much is a fully loaded Jaguar E-Pace?
Most buyers will likely be satisfied with the 2024 E-Pace as it is, especially now that the dynamic handling upgrades and exterior styling package come standard. However, Jaguar offers premium paint colors priced between $350 and $1,350, premium wheels upwards of $2,000, and the like.
2024 Jaguar E-Pace Fuel Economy
Despite the small-displacement engine, the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace is a thirsty cat.
Is the Jaguar E-Pace good on gas?
Not really. The Jaguar E-Pace has an EPA estimate of 20 mpg city, 26 highway, 23 combined, which earns a 2 on our scale.
