In its final year, the 2024 Jaguar F-Type continues to impress for its slick performance and beautiful styling.
What kind of vehicle is the 2024 Jaguar F-Type? What does it compare to?
Offered in coupe and roadster forms, the 2023 F-Type is a proper sports car with a long hood and sleek proportions. Shop it against the Porsche 718, BMW Z4, and Chevrolet Corvette.
Is the 2024 Jaguar F-Type a good car?
With robust power and gorgeous styling, the F-Type rates a 6.2 on the TCC scale. (Read more about how we rate cars.)
What's new for the 2024 Jaguar F-Type?
The F-Type exits stage left after the 2024 model year. Jaguar has dialed the lineup back to just two versions powered by either a 450- or a 575-hp version of the company’s big supercharged V-8. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power rearward or to all four wheels.
As much a grand tourer as an outright sports car, the F-Type has a supple ride for a vehicle with standard 20-inch wheels wearing high-performance rubber. An electronic limited-slip rear differential helps enhance traction.
Versions with all-wheel drive are designated with special 75 badging this year. Those models also have a full-leather interior and special 20-inch alloy wheels.
Fuel economy checks in at 18 or 19 mpg combined, depending on the configuration.
The cozy interior is nonetheless beautifully outfitted and loaded with tech. A 10.0-inch touchscreen handles infotainment inputs, while a 12.3-inch screen fronts the driver in the instrument panel. Jaguar has largely discarded optional features this year, so you’ll need only choose your color and trim level.
A typical array of driver-assistance features comes standard, including much-needed blind-spot monitors.
How much does the 2024 Jaguar F-Type cost?
Jaguar wants about $80,000 for a base F-Type R-Dynamic, though we might spurge the extra $12,000 for the F-Type 75 with its all-wheel drive, its special interior trim, and a handful of additional features including cooled front seats and extended leather trim.
Where is the 2024 Jaguar F-Type made?
In England.
2024 Jaguar F-Type Styling
The 2024 Jaguar F-Type remains stunning.
Is the Jaguar F-Type a good-looking car?
By all reasonable accounts, yes it is. We like it more as a coupe with its sloping roofline than as a convertible, but you can’t go wrong. The F-Type earns two points for its exterior and one for its interior.
Its long-roof proportions and cat-like headlights give it an athletic stance that echoes earlier Jag sports cars. All models have at least 20-inch wheels. This year’s 75 models have unique designs with gloss black accents.
The F-Type is somewhat spartan inside, though the full leather kit that comes with the 75 model looks more in line with its price tag. Jaguar offers a bunch of interior colors, though you won’t find classic wood trim here.
2024 Jaguar F-Type Performance
The 2023 Jaguar F-Type delivers thrilling acceleration and handling.
This balanced lineup comes in fast and ferocious versions, all matched with terrific handling. They’re a 9 out of 10, with two points for scoot, one for handling, and another for overall poise.
Is the Jaguar F-Type 4WD?
It can be. All 75 models are, while the base R-Dynamic is rear-wheel drive.
How fast is the Jaguar F-Type?
It’s no slouch. Two 5.0-liter supercharged V-8s are on offer, delivering 444 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque to the wheels in base versions and 575 hp as the F-Type R75. Base models zip to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, while the F-Type R75 is a downright spectacular 3.5-second car.
All that go is matched with well-weighted steering and great grip from wide, low-profile tires. Remarkably, the F-Type is a comfortable highway cruiser, too. It’s a true GT car, albeit one with a track-ready side.
2024 Jaguar F-Type Comfort & Quality
The 2024 Jaguar F-Type is beautifully finished, but not exactly practical.
You don’t want a coupe for its practicality, right? The 2024 Jaguar F-Type has comfortable bolstered seats and an upscale cabin, but its small trunk nudges it back to a 5. That’s typical for a luxury two-door.
Leather is standard, of course, but it takes stepping up to the 75 models for those hides to make their way to the dash and door trims, too. Jaguar offers scant interior color and trim options, so don’t look to make yours particularly personalized.
Coupes have a decent 14.4 cubic feet of cargo space, while convertibles have just over half that.
2024 Jaguar F-Type Safety
The 2024 Jaguar F-Type is unlikely to be crash tested.
How safe is the Jaguar F-Type?
We can’t say for certain since it hasn’t been tested. All models have the basics, though: automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control.
Outward vision is hampered by thick roof pillars, so-so over-the-shoulder visibility, and a low seating position.
2024 Jaguar F-Type Features
The 2024 Jaguar F-Type comes well-appointed, but there are few options.
What was once a broad lineup of models has been sliced down to six basic variants, with few options for customization.
The 2024 Jaguar F-Type nonetheless retains an 8 rating thanks to a big infotainment screen, plenty of standard features, and a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty with scheduled maintenance.
The range starts at about $79,000 for a base coupe, which has a 10.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, leather upholstery, and heated seats with power adjustment.
Convertibles are a reasonable $2,000 more.
Which Jaguar F-Type should I buy?
You might as well go for the F-Type 75, which adds all-wheel drive, cooled front seats, and additional leather trim for about $12,000 more.
Customization is limited to paint and upholstery shades, plus a few design packs with different wheels and trim.
How much is a fully loaded Jaguar F-Type?
The F-Type R75 runs a hefty $115,000 or so, with most of that extra budget allocated to underhood power and braking upgrades.
2024 Jaguar F-Type Fuel Economy
You didn’t expect a supercharged V-8 to sip fuel, did you?
Is the Jaguar F-Type good on gas?
It’s not great. We rate it at just 1 out of 10.
The lower-output V-8 is rated at 17 mpg city, 24 highway, 19 combined in most configurations. Opting for the F-Type R nudges those figures down only slightly to 16/24/18 mpg.
Premium fuel is, of course, required.
