Jaguar aspired to bless the I-Pace with track performance and some all-terrain capability, though more range might have been a more worthwhile goal. At 246 miles on a full charge, the I-Pace falls short of key rivals.
Though the I-Pace doesn’t fast-charge as quickly as other crossover EVs, it can recover 63 miles in 15 minutes with a 150-kw CCS connector, and it can charge at rates up to 100 kw. On a 240-volt home charger, a full charge takes less than nine hours thanks to an 11-kw onboard charger.
The I-Pace’s cab-forward design and rakish profile add up to a look that’s more like the F-Pace or other Jaguar crossovers than like other EVs. Though the I-Pace doesn’t take full advantage of its EV skateboard platform, its cab-forward design flows into taut yet graceful lines and surface details, with big wheel wells that lend a sporty hot-hatch look. It’s not exactly understated, but the clean details come together and work well. If there’s a styling outlier, it’s the brightwork that’s fallen out of favor in the past decade or so, though it’s a Jaguar thing, for better or for worse.

How fast is the Jaguar I-Pace?

It’s a 9, with good headroom and legroom, fine if traditional details, and impressive fit and finish that add up to one of the best cabins on the market.
This Jaguar feels a little more spacious inside than other crossovers with similar dimensions, gas or EV. Front occupants get well-bolstered and supportive seats, which can be upgraded to sport seats or finished in posh Windsor leather. It’s more comfortable than some SUVs in the six-figure range. Jaguar heritage shines through with finely-stitched leather, wood trim, and warm tones, and though it’s a little more cluttered with buttons and brightwork than EV trends dictate, it’ll feel especially welcoming to those who prefer a more traditional look.
The I-Pace offers 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up, though they fold nearly flat to open up 51.0 cubes. The front row doesn’t have much small-item storage, though there are other thoughtful details, like laptop storage under the back seats.
