The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is a city-friendly, style-forward small SUV that appeals more to emotion than rationality.
What kind of vehicle is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque? What does it compare to?
The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is a styling statement in a somewhat practical SUV body. It compares to the BMW X2, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, and Lexus NX.
Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque a good SUV?
It’s stylish and well-equipped if pricey and tight inside. The 2025 Evoque is rated 6.2 on the TCC scale. (Read more about how we rate cars.)
What's new for the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque?
After a styling update last year, the Evoque sees few notable tweaks for 2025.
Looking like a three-quarter scale Range Rover Sport, the Evoque has a wide grille and headlights resting below a clamshell-esque hood. Its beltline tapers upward, while its roofline skews slightly downward, resulting in a sharp, modern appearance that’s devoid of any overtly outdoorsy cues.
The cabin comes from the same Saks Fifth Avenue school of design, with its minimalist shapes, limited adornment, and lavish materials.
Underhood, the 2.0-liter turbo-4 pushes out a reasonable but not thrilling 246 hp via a 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. It’ll conquer snow or dirt roads, but that’s about it. Anyone actually planning to rough it should look at other Land Rover models. Still, the Evoque is nimble around town and composed at speed.
The Evoque’s fuel economy is estimated at just 22 mpg combined, which isn’t very good.
You won’t find a lot of interior room inside the Evoque, though its cargo area is decent for a vehicle that takes up this little space. That said, its cabin is outfitted with luxurious materials even in its cheapest form, and it hardly wants for luxury and technology features. The standard 11.4-inch touchscreen has easy-to-use software and is equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Evoques haven’t been crash tested in the U.S., but they do come with a lot of standard crash-avoidance and driver-assistance tech, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, and adaptive cruise control.
How much does the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque cost?
It's offered in Evoque S and Dynamic SE grades. The base Evoque S runs $51,175, which is significantly more than most competitors. It’s decently outfitted for the money, though, with leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Meridian audio, a wireless charging pad, a big sunroof, an 11.4-inch touchscreen, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Where is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque made?
In England.
2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Styling
The littlest Range Rover distills its big siblings’ look into a smaller package.
Is the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque a good-looking SUV?
Yes, though we admit that we rather like the rest of the Range Rover lineup as well. The Evoque shrinks down the styling from the larger Range Rovers. It’s wedgy and unique enough to get two points for its exterior and one for its stylish, high-zoot cabin, bringing the total to 8 out of 10.
The Evoque’s exterior has striking proportions and fine detailing. The big wheel arches and low roofline give it something of a show car look. Sure, it’s most stylish with big 20-inch alloy wheels, but it rides far better with the standard 18s. Choose wisely.
Inside, the cabin has a comparatively restrained look, though it’s well-organized and composed of nice materials. There’s not much flair to the interior, though we appreciate its simple style.
2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Performance
The 2025 Range Rover Evoque is nimble and composed.
The 2025 Land Rover Evoque is pleasant enough to drive, but it’s not as quick as its racy shape otherwise suggests. It’s a 6 out of 10 here thanks to its decent handling.
Is the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 4WD?
Yes, though it’s hardly a mountain goat. Its big wheels which are typically wrapped in low-profile tires. It's definitely meant for city streets, not rugged terrain.
How fast is the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque?
The 2.0-liter turbo-4 puts out a decent 246 hp to the wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission, which clicks off the 0-60 mph run in about 7.0 seconds. That’s fine, but not exactly quick.
The Evoque rides and handles quite well, though, so it really does beg for a high-output version of this engine. The well-weighted steering and taut but not too stiff suspension tuning give the Evoque impressive reflexes. It’s nimble in town while feeling planted well enough at speed. Base models now come with 18-inch alloy wheels that have a decent amount of sidewall, and they ride the best. Once you step up to 20-inch wheels, though, the ride can feel a bit skittish.
Amazingly, Land Rover rates the Evoque to tow up to 4,000 pounds, which seems like a lot for a vehicle this small with a fairly short wheelbase.
2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Comfort & Quality
Stylish but not spacious, the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is not a particularly practical choice.
The entry-level model in the Range Rover lineup has a cabin that lives up to the brand’s standards for style and materials, but it’s not very roomy. It’s a 7 here thanks to its nice trim and SUV-grade cargo utility.
The Range Rover Evoque stretches a mere 172.1 inches long, so we hardly expect it to be spacious. Its low roofline limits headroom in favor of sleek styling, though.
The front seats have 10-way power adjustments at the bottom of the lineup, and 16-way seats are available. They’re all comfy, if a bit too bolstered for wider occupants. Rear-seat riders will find cramped quarters.
The Evoque’s cargo area starts at 21.5 cubic feet with the rear seat backs upright, and it grows nicely to 50.5 cubes with them folded. All told, those aren’t bad figures for a vehicle that takes up this little space.
What we like the most about this little Rover is its interior trim, which is in line with the automaker’s higher-end models.
2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Safety
The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has not been crash tested.
How safe is the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque?
Good question. It hasn’t been evaluated by either the NHTSA or the IIHS, so we can’t assign a score here.
All models are well-equipped, though. You’ll find standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, active lane control, blind-spot monitors, and adaptive cruise control. A surround-view camera is optional.
2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Features
The 2025 Range Rover Evoque is pricey but pretty well-equipped.
Land Rover wants a hefty $51,175 for its cheapest Range Rover model, which seems excessive at first. However, the Evoque is nicely outfitted even in base form, so it scores an 8 here thanks to plentiful standard equipment, myriad options, and an 11.4-inch touchscreen with good baked-in software.
It misses out on an extra point for warranty and service, though. The 4-year/50,000-mile warranty is luxury typical.
Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a sunroof, leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated seats up front, Meridian audio, a wireless device charging pad, and adaptive cruise control. Many of those features are optional on its direct rivals.
Which Land Rover Range Rover Evoque should I buy?
The base Evoque S is a good starting point, though we’d budget a few more grand for such niceties as a surround-view camera, wood interior trim, and adaptive dampers, plus some styling tweaks like metallic paint and, just for the heck of it, a bronze roof.
How much is a fully loaded Land Rover Range Rover Evoque?
We’d rather spend on the base S than we would for the $5,000 more-costly Dynamic SE, which doesn’t really add any major extras. It has 19-inch alloy wheels and a bunch of styling tweaks that don’t do much for us.
2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Fuel Economy
The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque may be small, but it’s thirsty.
Is the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque good on gas?
It’s surprisingly lousy. The Evoque checks in at just 20 mpg city, 27 highway, 22 combined, which earns it a 2 on the TCC scale.
