Overview

Based on the stunning O2 concept car, the 2026 Polestar 6 is set to serve as the luxury electric automaker’s next halo sports car. Riding on the same aluminum structure as the upcoming 5 luxury sedan, the 6 wears a chopped convertible hardtop and two fewer doors but retains the brand’s now-signature minimalist interior design. Polestar says an 884-hp dual-motor powertrain will be good enough for a 3.2-second blast to 62 mph, but the company hasn’t yet speculated on driving range. We expect at least 300 miles per charge, but we’ll update this story when we find out something more concrete. Assume the production vehicle to ship with eco-friendly interior materials and a large infotainment touchscreen with Polestar’s most up-to-date Google-based software interface.

What's New for 2026?

The Polestar 6 will be an all-new model, and the brand’s first convertible, and is on track to debut for the 2026 model year. We’ve only seen a concept so far, but expect to find out more about the production model closer to the car’s on-sale date.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Dual Motor
$100,000 (est)

Polestar hasn’t released pricing for the Polestar 6 yet, but we expect it to carry a price premium over more practical models elsewhere in the automaker’s lineup of electric cars. Since the Polestar 5 sedan will offer a similar powertrain and we expect the 6 will use that car’s aluminum platform, a six-figure price tag isn’t implausible.

    EV Motor, Power, and Performance

Polestar hasn’t released detailed specifications for its upcoming sports car but said it will share the 800-volt electric architecture with the Polestar 5 sedan, including that car’s 884-hp dual-motor electric powertrain. Polestar estimates that this should provide enough acceleration to hit 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds.

      Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

We can see from photos of the concept car that the Polestar 6 will follow the brand’s minimalist interior design aesthetic. A squared-off steering wheel frames a small digital gauged display in the concept car and clean, linear lines give the dashboard an extra-wide look. A large storage cubby runs the length of the center console with a singular knob located ahead of the armrest for interacting with the infotainment system.

        Infotainment and Connectivity

Like other Polestar models, the Polestar 6 features a large, portrait-style infotainment touchscreen but from photos of the concept, it appears to run a future version of the Google-based software interface. The concept also wears exterior cameras in place of mirrors, which is a cool tech feature, but they aren’t likely to make it to the production car.
